Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

Location: London or US Northeast

Engine AI is an innovative enterprise software company that has spent the last five years developing its proprietary Engine & Operating System. After significant market traction and scaling the team by 50% this year, we are ready to build out a world-class sales organization. We are seeking our first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to spearhead our sales strategy and drive exponential growth, based out of London or US Northeast.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to achieve aggressive revenue growth goals.
  • Define clear revenue targets, KPIs, and forecasting models across all revenue streams.
  • Build, manage, and scale a high-performing sales organization, including direct sales, channel partnerships, and customer success teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to optimize customer acquisition and expand market reach.
  • Own the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to customer retention, ensuring alignment across all revenue-generating functions.
  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities and customer segments to accelerate growth.
  • Lead the expansion into new territories and verticals, tailoring sales approaches to diverse customer needs.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top sales talent, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Set and monitor performance metrics, providing coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Align the sales team’s goals with overall business objectives, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and transparency.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach, emphasizing long-term customer relationships and value delivery.
  • Act as a key member of the executive team, contributing to company strategy, fundraising efforts, and investor relations.

Sales Operations and Process Optimization

  • Implement sales processes, and tools to optimize team performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage a sales operating system that drives accountability, transparency, and scalability.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging sales analytics and CRM insights.
  • Ensure a robust feedback loop between sales, product, and marketing to continually refine go-to-market strategies.
REQUIREd Background

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in Enterprise SaaS, or related technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of scaling sales organizations and driving significant revenue growth in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
  • Extensive experience leading enterprise sales teams, including direct and channel sales models.
  • Deep understanding of building and optimizing go-to-market strategies in enterprise software markets.
  • Experience working with senior leadership, board members, and investors to drive revenue strategy.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance short-term execution with long-term vision.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and scaling high-performance sales organizations, including managing teams across multiple geographies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Deep knowledge of sales operations, including CRM systems, sales forecasting, and performance analytics.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for driving customer success and retention.
